Kira A. Dietz is the Assistant Director, Special Collections and University Archives, Virginia Tech. In addition to an MLS from the University of Maryland, she also has an MA in English from the University of Tennessee. Her major responsibilities in Special Collections include project management, department operations, working with donors and dealers to acquire new materials, overseeing processing and description of collections, and assisting with reference, instruction, and outreach. Since joining Special Collections in 2009, she has become the "go-to" person for reference, instruction, and outreach relating to the History of Food and Drink Collection, which she blogs about.
