Acquisitions labor in archives is invisible. To increase transparency concerning custodial history, we must illuminate pre-custodial work that happens prior to accessioning. The speakers offer examples of acquisition practices and workflows and reflect on how that work has the ability to transform and inform how collections are accessed and understood. By sharing our experiences, we hope to generate discussion and collaboration around this hidden work and leave inspired by the future of acquisitions.

Meaghan O'Riordan: Communication, Trust, and Collaboration: Getting Everyone Invested in Acquisitions Work
Jessica Barr: Developing and Applying an Acquisitions Workflow in the University of St. Michael's College Archives
Alexandra Mills: Toward Collaborative Acquisition Practices at Concordia University Library's Special Collections
