FilmFabriek developed the HDS+: a sprocketless frame-by-frame small format film scanner especially for the archive market. The HDS+ has many features designed specifically for old material such as:
1) Capstan drive for safe film handling
2) Resolutions up to 4K so that film only ever needs to be scanned once
3) Wet gate system to remove emulsion scratches
4) Selectable output resolutions
The HDS+ is used by many archive institutions, universities and scanning facilities.
