Danna Bell is an Educational Outreach Specialist at the Library of Congress. Previously she served as a member of the Digital Reference Team at the Library, the first reference division created to specifically deal with the online resources found on the Library's website. Prior to joining the Library's staff she worked as the Curator of the National Equal Justice Library, as an archivist within the Washingtoniana Division of the District of Columbia Public Library and the Henry Lee Moon Library at the NAACP. She also worked as a reference librarian and coordinator of bibliographic instruction at Marymount University. Bell received her Bachelor and Masters degrees at Miami University. She received her MLS from Long Island University. She has presented papers at both SAA and MARAC and served as a reviewer for Library Journal, Educational Media Reviews Online and the Public History Resource Center. Bell has been active in the Society of American Archivists serving as a member and eventually co-chair of the Committee on Education and Professional Development, on the Steering Committee for the Manuscripts Repository section and the Reference, Access and Outreach section, as a member of the 2001 and 2006 Program committees, Chair of the 2007 Program Committee, twice as a member of the Nominations and Elections Committee, as Chair of the Brenda Banks Travel Award Committee, as a member of SAA Council and in 2013-2014 as President of SAA. She is also an active member of the Mid-Atlantic Regional Archives Conference and is also a past Chair of MARAC. .
